What the newbie needs is a story, built from a certain point of view that can incorporate all these concepts. As the historian tends to say, I am too close to the now to see the bigger picture of what happens now. This is true to an extent but we are already three decades into mainstream data warehousing, so there are some pretty solid learnings already.
